Just another space shooter?

The short answer is 'Yes!'. The long answer is also yes. I'm afraid we are not making many inovations in the way of gameplay. This is due mainly to a lack of time and help. This is a hobby for me since my full time job is currently building web sites on contract. So, I can only devote so much to this and bending the tech to my will has taken most of this time (not to mention my remaining hair).

XSpace was created using LWJGL and jMonkey Engine. The project is mainly for experimentation and to keep me out of trouble. If you have any feedback or would like to help, please visit the forum and take a look around.

So, what's to come?

Well, this is a good question. I don't know. There are still many features to be explored. The easiest target is a fun single player version with a mission based level system, AI and score keeping. The ambitious target would be an open mulitplayer system with persistent stats and progression. I wouldn't hold your breath for this, unless you have some time to donate.
